Your journey starts on your mobile phone: Unlock your car and check your oil life – even before you sit in the car! The myOpel app for OnStar even helps you if you have forgotten where you parked your Opel – just honk the horn and flash the lights remotely and let your car remind you.

 

With the myOpel App for OnStar1 you can:

  • Contact OnStar from anywhere

At the touch of a button: Three buttons in your car are the key to the comprehensive OnStar services. That way, we are always there for you – unless you press black and disappear.

 

These three buttons in the cockpit are your direct link to OnStar:

 

  • The blue Service Button promptly puts you through to an OnStar advisor – you can make use of most OnStar services that way
  • In an emergency, press the red SOS Button. You will be immediately transferred to an OnStar advisor, who will provide help as quickly as possible.
  • If you press the black Privacy Button for approximately five seconds, OnStar will not determine the location of your vehicle anymore – except in emergency situations, for example, an accident or car theft.

Stolen Vehicle Assistance. We'll Help Get It Back

Your car is no longer where you left it – presumably it has been stolen. OnStar1 can help the police to find your car.


All you have to do: report the theft to the police. Your OnStar advisor can then assist the police to  search for your car

 

  • OnStar locates your Opel via GPS and follows its route. Thus, the police know where your car is located.

 

  • Your OnStar advisor can permanently disable the ignition of your car - once the engine has been switched off, the thief cannot drive any further.

Emergency Call Service around the Clock

You, your passenger, or a passer-by need immediate medical assistance? Just press the SOS button and an OnStar advisor will assist you.

 

Your OnStar advisor will use GPS to notify your exact location to the emergency medical service, who will set out for your location as quickly as possible.1

You broke down in an unknown area? And you have weak mobile phone reception? Or your phone battery is dead? Press the Service Button and contact your OnStar advisor.1 The advisor will record your problem and support you in getting help. OnStar will contact Cyprus AA and, if your car is within the Opel Roadside Assistance coverage period and policy terms, they will dispatch a professional breakdown recovery team to your location free of charge.2

To get all the OnStar mobile services, just download and install the myOpel app from the Google Play Store for Android mobile devices or the App Store for Apple iOS devices.

 

If for once you do not have your smartphone with the myOpel app for OnStar ready at hand, one call to the OnStar service is enough. After checking your security PIN, the OnStar advisor is able to locate your vehicle and lock and unlock it remotely. This also works if you have locked yourself out of your own car by mistake.

  • For your safety, you decide on a PIN when you set up your account. If you would like to use the Remote Door Unlock1 or the Stolen Vehicle Assistance, the OnStar advisor will ask for it. That makes it clear: not the thief – only you have access to your car.

 

  • If you keep the Privacy Button in your car pushed for approximately five seconds, you mask your car’s location at any time. If you change your mind, press the Privacy Button for five seconds again to reveal your location. The only exception: a real emergency.1

 

  • Your privacy is important to us: We will never pass on your personal data without your consent. Your information will only be disclosed to OnStar and GM Holdings LLC (USA), its affiliate companies (e.g. Adam Opel AG), your selected/preferred dealers, companies involved in providing or carrying out the OnStar services and, at your request, to other service companies.

Immediate Crash Assistance: OnStar Can Save Your Life

  • Crash Assistance: As soon as your airbag is released, the Automatic Crash Response is activated. All important vehicle data is immediately sent to the OnStar centre: location, driving direction and even severity of the accident1

 

  • We talk to you: Specially trained OnStar advisors will start a voice communication with you and communicate with you via your hands-free speakerphone – eeven if you are abroad, the call will be in your chosen language also abroad in your chosen language2

 

  • Every second counts: As soon as we have received all information, and it clear that you need help, an OnStar advisor will notify the emergency services immediately.1

  • You can stay informed about the condition of your car. OnStar sends you a monthly email. It includes vital current operating data of your vehicle from the oil life up to the tyre pressure. So you always have all relevant information ready at hand.

 

  • The warning light in the cockpit lights up? Just press the Service Button and talk to your OnStar advisor. With the aid of the On-Demand Diagnostics the OnStar advisor can determine, if there is a damage, how severe it is, and whether you should go to a repair shop

 

  • You actually have to go to the repair shop? Annoying, but OnStar makes it easy for you: Your OnStar advisor sends the address of the next Opel service partner directly to your built-in Opel navigation system2
