To reduce emissions Opel engineers took a new standpoint for the Corsa ecoFLEX. The engine calibration of the 1.3 CDTI with 55 kW (75 hp) was optimized and a longer final drive ratio was added. Then they looked at the aerodynamics. The body was lowered by 20 mm and then low rolling resistance tires were added to the package. That way the good performance of the Corsa was retained keeping it fun to drive while helping cut consumption and CO2 emissions to just 105 resp. 109 g/km.
