Underneath the good looks, this outstanding off-roader contains a range of intelligent chassis control features to give you the response you need, however tough the conditions. A wealth of driving technologies put superb command at your fingertips.
Learn more about the Opel Antara all-wheel-drive technology and its comprehensive range of active and passive safety features.

The Opel Antara can be equipped with an electronically controlled all-wheel drive train. In normal driving conditions the power is delivered to the front wheels. However in difficult or slippery conditions it will automatically engage the all-wheel drive, distributing the power 50:50 front to rear, for optimal traction.

The Opel Antara is fitted with an incline Descent Control System as standard equipment. Activating the DCS maintains a constant descent speed which is preselected via the gas pedal.
The Opel Antara utilizes highly developed electronic driver’s support systems to enhance active safety. In addition to its normal function the ABS also offers:
Cornering Brake Control (CBC), which improves stability when braking in curves by reducing brake pressure on the inner wheels.
Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), which automatically increases braking pressure when the driver steps heavily on the brake, progressively increasing the pressure to the maximum, thus dramatically reducing braking distance.
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) fitted to the Opel Antara includes standard Traction Control (TC) and Descent Control System (DCS), Trailer Stability Program (TSP) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) that eases starting and eliminates roll-back on gradients.
The perfect interplay of these systems with the intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) not only delivers a high degree of driving satisfaction and comfort, but also high reserves of active safety.

These features and the detachable trailer hitch make the Opel Antara the perfect choice for trailer operation.

With SAFETEC® you’re protected on all sides. The system is based on the interaction of all the vehicle’s passive and active safety features, the main element being the extremely rigid passenger cell. This combination ensures that, if you are unlucky enough to be involved in an accident, mechanical deformation will be minimised and the largest possible survival area preserved.
