In the new Opel Corsa, ABS is much more than “just” ABS. It is the latest generation system incorporating a number of additional functions:

• Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD): optimizes the braking performance according to the vehicle load.
• Cornering Brake Control (CBC): improves stability when braking in curves by reducing brake pressure to the inner front wheel.
• Straight Line Stability Control (SLS): detects and corrects any tendency to instability when braking in a straight line by reducing brake pressure to the relevant wheels.

The new Opel Corsa can be upgraded with the optional IDS (Interactive Driving System) chassis including following functions: Electronic Stability Program Plus (ESP®Plus) with Traction Control Plus (TCPlus) and with Enhanced Understeering Control (EUC). EUC optimizes the maneuverability in addition to standard ESP®. In case of ESP®Plus intervention, brake pressure is applied to up to four wheels for the most effective stabilization when needed.

For experienced drivers the ESP®Plus can be switched off (with 1.6 Turbo engine only). Handling precision and agility are further enhanced with the optional sports chassis, by retuning ride height, suspension, damping, and steering characteristics to meet the demands of the sporty driver.

The speed-sensitive power-assisted steering provides maximum assistance when parking, and ensures good road contact and steering precision at higher speed. An extra direct, high response system is optionally available on all trims.
