The Opel Astra establishes new standards for ergonomics, storage possibilities and high quality perception to comfort driver and passengers.

Ergonomic sports seat

No matter how you drive, or how far, seat comfort is a vital necessity. The Opel Astra delivers it with a fully orthopaedic ergonomic sports seat that adjusts 6 ways with 4-way lumbar support to suit your posture – perfectly.

Also it has an adjustable seat cushion extension for relaxing leg support. At the top end perforated leather, with heating, brings the Opel Astra into the luxury category. But, if you prefer it, the cloth-covered version provides the same level of orthopaedic support.

The ergonomic sports seat is approved and recommended by AGR (Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V.), a German medical association that has set orthopaedic requirements for car seats.

Electric park brake

The touch operated electric park brake offers both increased parking security and decreased driver effort. Also in combination with Hill Start Assist and Hill Hold, both of which prevent the car rolling backwards when stopped on a hill, it gets you moving smoothly and effortlessly for increased comfort and safety.

Dual zone air conditioning

Air quality and control is a major aspect of the Opel Astra interior comfort. The Electronic Climate Control (ECC) offers a new quietness and sense of control, including individual driver setting memory. The air is charcoal filtered and both front seat occupants can choose their preferred temperature separately. The ECC also features controlled partial air recirculation for improved heat up and cooling performance.

The diffused ventilation vents are unique to Opel Astra. Thumbwheel operated, they enable air diffusion and moderation by adjustable vanes for more comfortable air distribution.

Infotainment systems

Whether receiving traffic information, dynamic navigation guidance, accessing preferred radio stations, or your MP3 player, the integrated infotainment system in the Opel Astra is as beautifully intuitive to use as it is beautiful to look at.

You have the choice from the Stereo CD-Radio with MP3-playback and aux-in to the state-of-the-art navigation system of the latest generation. The uplevel systems also feature an USB connection that provides MP3 player control via the steering wheel and the display.

To connect your mobile phone, you can decide between a wireless Bluetooth™ solution or an integrated system with phone-specific cradle that charges the mobile’s battery. All important phone functions can be operated from the steering wheel, faceplate, or via Voice Control.

Infinity Sound System

For absolute premium sound the Opel Astra also offers the option of the exceptional Infinity Sound System. This uses 7x45 W direct channels to drive 8 premium speakers. The audio signal is digitalized to be fine tuned with Digital Sound Processing (DSP) for accurate sound response. For you the difference is better all-round sound reproduction under all driving conditions.

Up to 19 storage facilities

Opel Astra offers stowage possibilities that are as numerous and practical as they are ingenious. The Opel Astra puts convenient storage within easy reach of the driver and passengers. Door pockets front and rear with bottle holders, a driver’s storage bin, cupholders, a large glove box, and front and rear centre armrests with closed storage compartments – depending on equipment there are in total 19 storage facilities for large and small items.

Luggage compartment with Flex Floor

The split-folded rear seat backrest allows to increase the load capacity of the Opel Astra in stages from 370 to 1,235 liters. The unique 3-position Flex Floor system increases the flexibility even further. It can lower the floor to maximize rear load height and volume. In the centre position the floor panel is flush with the folded rear seats for maximum flat load space and when fully raised it is flush with the rear sill for ease of loading and unloading. It can be easily lifted and fixed for access to the spare wheel and extra hidden storage.

Flex-Fix® rear carrier system

Extending a car’s versatility usually involves inconvenient additions. Not anymore. The Flex-Fix® rear carrier system – unique in this class – is there whenever you need it, and disappears when you don’t. The Flex-Fix® rear carrier system simply slides out from the rear bumper, so it doesn’t take up storage space in your garage or home. It takes two bikes with frames from 18 to 28 inches, and because it is low it is really easy to load. Another plus point is that an audible warning reminds you that it is in use if you engage reverse gear, so safeguarding both your Opel Astra and your bikes!
