Opel Astra engines prove that it is possible to balance lively performance with fuel efficiency and low emissions. Leading edge technology, leaner, greener, and packing more fun, the Opel Astra ECOTEC® engines deliver excellent performance and remarkably low fuel consumption in the compact class.

The Opel Astra powertrain line-up features four gasonline and four diesel engines ranging from 70 kW (95 hp) to 132 kW (180 hp). All engines meet the Euro 5 emission standards.
Both diesel and petrol variants are available with an advanced, precise and easy-shifting 5- or 6-speed manual transmission, while an all-new automatic 6-speed transmission with ActiveSelect® is available on the 2.0 CDTI ECOTEC® and all petrol engines except the naturally aspirated 1.4 litre ECOTEC® engines as well as the 1.4 Turbo ECOTEC®.

For some drivers the environment comes before everything else. If you share this commitment, the Opel Astra offers a real choice. The 1.3 CDTI ECOTEC® of the new Opel Astra ecoFLEX delivers 70 kW (95 hp) with a combined consumption of only 4.2 litres and cuts CO2 emissions to only 109 g/km.
In addition there is a 1.4 ecoFLEX petrol alternative, delivering 74 kW (100 hp), with CO2 emissions of just 129 g/km. By optimizing aerodynamics with an active air shutter in the grille and further refinements like fuel saving power management and shift-up indication in the central instrument display the Opel Astra ecoFLEX protects the environment on all trim levels.

Allfigures quoted relate to the EU base model with standard equipment.Fuel consumption data and CO2 emission data determined according toregulation EC 715/2007 and regulation EC 692/2008, taking intoconsideration the vehicle weight in running order, as specified bythe regulation. Additional equipment may lead to slightly higherresults than the stated consumption and CO2 figures. In addition, itmay increase the weight of the vehicle when empty and in some casesthe permissible axle weights as well as the permissible total weightof the vehicle and reduce the permissible towing weights. This maylead to a reduction in top speed and increased acceleration time. Thedriving performance figures shown are attainable when the vehicle isempty (without driver) plus a load of 200 kilograms.
