OK, so you're making a longer journey, meaning you may need to stop and charge. Before you set out, locate*  a fast (or DC) charging station that's on your route (like at a service station) and put its location in your sat nav. When you get there, just follow the instructions on the terminal, swipe your credit or RFID card, plug you car in (you don't need to use your cable) and go and get yourself a well-earned coffee.

Charging from home
Most people do the bulk of their charging from home - either via a wallbox or even a normal domestic plug. This is known as AC charging. Sure, it takes a few hours, but that's no problem if you're tucked up in bed - and electricity is often cheaper at night too. Win win. You'll need to use your own AC charging cable.

Our top tip? Top-up charges work brilliantly for everyday use - you hardly ever need to fully charge.

For longer journeys, you'll make use of one of the growing number of public chargers which give you super-fast charge. The great news is you can check your charging status from the MyOpel app, so you're always in control.
